New Year, New Purpose

Start 2025 with purpose and clarity

The new year is here - a time of fresh starts, bold visions and ambitious plans. At Luminal Development, we know how transformative the right goals can be, especially for leaders and teams in nonprofit and service-based industries. In fact, our goal-setting workshop is among our most popular offering for ambitious organizations ready to move beyond “talking about it.”

To kick the year off right, we’re launching our Goal-Setting Worksheet, a completely free resource based on that workshop and designed to help you turn your 2025 aspirations into actionable, measurable success.

What makes this worksheet special?

Luminal’s Goal-Setting Worksheet goes beyond typical templates. It’s tailored to meet the unique challenges and opportunities leaders face in the nonprofit and service industries, helping you and your team:

  • Dream Big and Think Strategically: Define goals that inspire, align with your vision and resonate with your organization's values - all critical for investment and engagement all year long.

  • Use the SMART Framework (with a bonus): Ensure your goals are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound, setting you up for success from the start. You’re going to learn to make them Inclusive, as well.

  • Break Goals into Actionable Steps: Transform great, world-changing ideas into clear goals that you’ll be able to track from start to finish.

  • Keep it Simple: What separates great goals from good ones is simplicity. Less is more when it comes to level-setting and moving forward.

How to use the worksheet to jumpstart your 2025

  1. Gather Your Team or Reflect Solo: Use this worksheet in team goal-setting sessions, or start with your own personal leadership goals. Remember that the best leaders share their personal goals with their teams!

  2. Dream Big, Plan Realistically: Focus on what you truly want to achieve this year, balancing ambition with practicality. Set aside the need to be a Jack of All Trades and learn to be the Master of Some.

  3. Outline Your Next Steps: Break big goals into smaller, actionable pieces to create a roadmap for success. If you can’t achieve the goal in six months or so, it’s too large - scale back!

  4. Commit to Regular Check-Ins: Make goal tracking a consistent part of your routine (both on your own and at your check-ins with direct reports) to stay on course throughout the year.

Let’s make 2025 extraordinary!

We’re committed to helping you thrive as a leader this year. Our Goal-Setting worksheet is just one of many tools we’ll be sharing as part of our new features section, so stay tuned for even more great resources throughout the year.
