Here for what’s next.

Hi, I’m Paige Carstensen (she/her), the face and founder of Luminal Development. I am a certified leadership and development coach and former educator with a specialization in educational equity and deep expertise in how people learn. My passion is supporting organizations and individuals in the liminal space - that fragile, wonderful moment of possibility between a past that’s coming to an end and a future that’s yet uncertain; a consistent reality in our fast-moving global economy. I shine in helping you and your organization find the next right path forward, to the luminosity that’s next.

Why I’m Qualified

From my beginnings as a teacher turned school and then district leader, direct instruction and innovative learning experiences have always been fundamental to the work that I do. When I transitioned from the world of education, I brought my curiosity and expertise about how people learn and 15 years of professional development aptitude, employee lifecycle work, and leadership coaching, which I cemented with ICF (International Coaching Federation) coaching certification earned at Brown University. Knowing that people stay with organizations that invest in them, and that companies work best when their folks are receiving regular development, my specialty is in supporting your business to find the ‘just right’ approach to developing and retaining talent at all levels of the organization.

Why This Matters

My clients are driven by the desire to make the world better, while simultaneously knowing that mission-driven work is a marathon, not a sprint, and they must prioritize their own well-being and self-work as well. This push/pull endears me to them, because it’s a space I know well. I love agile, creative problem-solving with resourceful folks and helping them (re)locate their spark, or the spark of their organization. Ultimately, I want the people I work with to reclaim their empowerment and get energized, so they can embrace their next great challenge.

Another Lens

My identity as a (middle-aged) mom fundamentally shifted how I approach my work. Having my own children made me more values-driven, more purposeful, more thoughtful…and also more protective of my time. In short, parenthood made me better at my job while bringing its own host of challenges. I share this openly because the great balancing act is an important part of how I show up to do game-changing work with clients, and I get it if you are there, too. It’s not impossible to have a fufilling career and a fabulous life - it just takes more strategic planning and the right tools, and I’m here to help you and your folks figure it out.

Let’s work together.

I want to know more about you!
